CENTENNIAL PREPARATION

Muskogee Rotary is almost 100 years old.
It is time to get busy to ensure a memorable and lasting November 2013 celebration. The CENTENNIAL CLOCK that will be placed at the Civic Center.
There will be a number of festivities to help us mark our 100th year. We need to maintain the momentum.Ask a member of the Centennial Committee (Ted Hine, Janey Boydston, Jack Farr, Catherine Clay, Sam Fowler, Sue Harris, David Jones, Kim Lynch, Daniel Miller, Al Stephens, Renee Fredrick) how you can be involved.

PARTY IN THE PARK

Party in the Park Wine & Food Tasting in Muskogee’s Honor Heights Park on Saturday was a huge success.

THANK YOU to our guests, the wineries, restaurants, and sponsors for filling the day with fun and fellowship. A special thanks is owed to the dozens of Rotarians who worked throughout the day to ensure its success.

Feb 9th, Program: 4 Way Test speeches.

The contestants will compete in our local 4 Way Speech contest, the winner of which will compete at the District level.

Darren Saliba, Regional ODOT engineer shared with Rotary a basic state of the bridges in North Eastern Oklahoma.

Main points:  the budget has been increased over the last few years to all real fixes rather than just the patch work of previouis years and administrations.

He presented maps showing exactly what bridges need repair,  which have been repaired and which need replacing.

He also showed a willingness to take and answer audience questions, as a commitment to be available to respond those questions that required research.

— Rotary Club of Muskogee, a chapter of Rotary International, was founded in 1913 with the mission to 1) contribute to the health and growth of Muskogee by being active, contributing members of the community by providing assistance and support to disadvantaged groups/individuals and the organizations that serve these populations, fostering development of Muskogee’s youth, and supporting nonprofits with missions compatible with Rotary’s overall goals;  2) support district, national and international Rotary initiatives; and  3) nurture business by supporting club member business owners, executives and appointed representatives.
