Rotarians Melissa Branch, Catherine Clay, Ivory Vann and Larry Hoffman went shopping the day of Thanksgiving to buy toys for the Muskogee Salvation Army.

The Muskogee Salvation Army is one of three agencies that Muskogee Rotary aids every Thanksgiving/Christmas season.

This year, Sergeant Jamie Spalding of the Muskogee Salvation Army requested that Muskogee Rotary provide toys for girls and boys ages 10, 11 & 12.  She said that this was a group that sometimes gets left out.

Our local Rotarians divided up into Girl and Boy teams at Wal-Mart and went shopping.  Melissa and Catherine chose 46 gifts for the girls.  Ivory and Larry purchased

50 gifts for the boys.  Larry said they bought basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, and baseballs for the boys.  Melissa said they chose make-up; board games; videos and other Girlie stuff for the girls.

The enclosed photo, is of the married couple, Jamie & Jay Spalding, of Muskogee Salvation Army, loading the toys into their van for delivery to their distribution center at the Muskogee Fair Grounds.

Medical Supply Network, Inc.

Don’t miss our Dec. 2nd meeting when Larry Biron, Director of Operations, will discuss the work of the Medical Supply Network.  He will also include the work enabled by Muskogee Rotary’s recent $8,500 donation to fund a prosthetic clinic in Haiti for citizens injured in the January 2010 earthquake.  Be sure to invite folks you know in the medical field.  This is a great opportunity to involve the whole community.  For more information, visit their website at http://msni.6110times.org/contact.html.

Gov. William Wallace visits the Muskogee Club

Muskogee Rotary, gives to the Ark of Faith

Larry Hoffman and Ryan Hardaway are delivering food items to the Ark of
Faith Organization on behalf of the Muskogee Noon Rotary Club. Every
Fall, the Muskogee Noon Rotary Club delivers either food items or toys
to three organizations to help make the Thanksgiving and Christmas
seasons better for some Muskogee residents.

Hoffman and Hardaway delivered 70 one-pound canned hams; 48 one-pound
cans of black-eyed peas; 34 one-pound bags of dried black-eyed peas and
84 one-pound cans of sweet potatoes to the Ark of Faith. The Ark of
Faith serves a lot of single adult families; families with only one
parent and widows. They specifically requested these items for their
Thanksgiving Baskets for their clients.
